Waterford Village - Rental, 51 Meadow Lane, Bridgewater, MA

I was a resident at WF btwn 7/09 thru 6/10. I will start out by saying that I have no complaints regarding the dwelling and upkeap. My complaints are relative to their unlawful practices regarding fees. Although it is unlawful, they will charge you for a mandatory carpeting cleaning fee (over $100) by a professional, regardless of whether you ever stepped foot on the rugs, let alone what is considered "normal wear and care." The State of Massachusetts has a law known as Chapter 93A which was written for just these unlawful and "Unfair and Deceptive Acts." You are told that this is Corporate Policy. Based upon information provided by an Attorney and former residence, this very apartment complex was cited for the same activity previously as a class action suit after several former residents complained to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office while under different ownership. The suit was settled out of court with reparations paid to the claimants. Well...............history repeats itself, and they are doing it again. I am in the process of preparing a class action suit as I was told by the Attorney General's office that they require several complaints to take action and have all those who have been affected by this unlawful practice to be compensated. I have several individuals who have come forward and notified me of the same act committed against them, however, I NEED YOUR HELP as I need at least three more former residents who have suffered to come forward and respond to this email. YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO TAKE TIME OUT FROM WORK TO GO TO COURT. I will do all the work through Attorney and the AG's office. All I need is a few minutes by phone call or sentences in an email to describe when you were a resident and whether you feel the mandatory fee was unwarranted due to the fact that it would be considered "normal wear and tear." I spoke to at least 6 residents back in the summer who were leaving just for this very reason. They assume that you won't want to go through the hassle and expense of moving.
