I lived at Chippewa apartments. I paid an outrageous amount for rent. I am not considered poor or low income so I paid the maximum - nearly $600 for a one bedroom. The complex itself is occupied by almost all low income families which makes it an interesting place to live, to say the least. The neighbors are loud at all hours (music, yelling, etc) and are rubber-neckers when it comes to any new people in the complex. The locks seem unreliable; the doors do not have deadbolts. Each apartment has a control on a floor heating unit which is very unreliable when in comes to maintaining a decent temperature. While the apartment itself is nice (quiet, decent size, nice layout) it was not clean when I moved in and I had to scrub out the bathtub before using it. It appeared that it was never cleaned from the last tenent. The water heaters are shared within each hallway which means you share your water supply with 7 other apartments. This leads to no hot water when you try to get ready for work in the morning.
